It sounds like you haven’t been running the necessary Period/Year End updates. SAFE needs to prepare the ‘buckets’ to hold data about the current g/l period. By far the most common reason this can happen is that the BackOrderPercentage Global Option is set to zero. That effectively turns this feature off. MODULE: UpdateSalesOrderStatus PARAM: BackOrderPercentage DEFAULT VALUE: 10 The default value is 10 (percent) but any value other than zero will enable the feature.
