Commissions Not Calculating Properly On Report

There are several reasons why comissions may not display properly on the report(s). The first thing to check is the Commission Locked column which is the rightmost column of report.

If you see a ‘1’ or a ‘2’ in this column that means that the commission is locked and is not automatically re-calculated every time the report is generated.

There is a legend @ the bottom of the report:

0: Unlocked
1: Commission Locked (Manual)
2: Commission Locked (Manual)

Unpacking that: If the column displays a ‘2’ it means that the Commission was locked automatically after running the report. The report has an option check box where you can tell Simple Accounting to lock the commission in place after the report runs. Once the Commission is locked it does not recalculate, so you need to unlock the commission for each Order and then re-run the report.

This is not the same as the Order Lock (the little key @ left in the browse.) The Commission Lock is independent of the locked state of the Order/Job.

To correct the problem: you unlock the Commission for an Order or Job by right clicking on the Order/Job in the Orders Browse. Select ‘Commissions’ the un-check the Locked box.
