The calendar is accessed by pressing the Calendar icon at the top right of the tool bar next to the Calculator. The calendar performs two functions in SAFE:

• First, the calendar lets you select a date and drag-and-drop it into any date field in a data entry window. You do this by by selecting the date from the calendar and dragging it to the field you want in the form. As you drag the date over a valid date field, the cursor changes to a down arrow to let you know that you can ‘drop’ the date into the target field.

   Keep the calendar open, but minimized at all times to make entering all dates easier with drag and drop.

   You do not need to open a calendar in order to paste the current date into a field. Simply place the mouse at the bottom of the calendar button on the tool bar, hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse cursor to the field you wish to insert the current date. Voila! The current date is inserted into the field. (The mouse cursor changes shape to show you that you are dragging.)

• Second, by clicking on the [Daily Notes & Activities] button, you call up your list of activities to do for this date as well as your daily notes.

The calendar may be activated at any time by pressing <F4> on your keyboard.
