In several browses, theshortcut is keyed to a Search Name field, not necessarily the name of the organization. This is extremely helpful in several cases where finding an organization using their exact name would be tedious or ambiguous:
- Names with similar and very long names, eg. First National Bank of Auburn, First National Bank of Winston, etc.
- Names that begin with the words A or The.
- Names which contain punctuation, plus or and signs, such as A.B. Dick, A+R Printing, A/Z Printing, etc.
To make Search As You Type work well, it is very important to establish consistent rules for selecting Search Names for various types of organization names. Here are our suggestions:
1. All companies named after a person will be listed under the last name . However, if the is used possessively, the company will be listed accordingly.
