Phone numbers in Simple Accounting consist of an area code, phone number, and four-digit extension. The area code defaults to your company’s area code for new records.

When entering a phone number do not format the numbers. In other words, if the phone number is (206)-123-4567, extension 9876, simply type

20612345679876

and let Simple Accounting format it properly as

(206)-123-4567-9876

THE DIALER

Simple Accounting automatically tries to determine the phone number you wish to dial when you start the Dialer. It does this in three ways:

• When you start the Dialer with a browse open, the number to be dialed is automatically the phone number from the selected record in the browse.
• When you are editing a record and phone number field is selected, you can start the Dialer and the phone number will be automatically typed for you.
• You can drag a phone number from any browse that contains a phone number and drop it into the Dialer.
