On the Fly

On the Fly data entry means entering records into a secondary file while in the middle of entering another record. You may be in the middle of entering a sales order and realize the proper Product ID has not been entered for the item you wish to sell. Rather than cancelling the transaction, you can simply Insert the record into the Products & Services browse without leaving the sales order data entry window. We would refer to the product ID as having been entered ‘on the fly’.
