Window Won’t Open
Occasionally you may click on a menu to open a window and nothing happens. The program doesn’t ‘crash’; it seems stuck. One cause is that the window is actually open, but is beyond the screen.
This usually happens when an Employee has logged in from two separate machines which have very different screen sizes with the Save Window Settings feature enabled. What is happening is that Simple Accounting is attempting to position the window at the screen location from the last saved monitor which does not exist on the current machine.
There are two ways to correct this; the easy way and the hard way. We recommend the hard way first because the easy way removes all your Employee Options; which can be tedious to re-build.
The Hard Way
In order to do this, you must know the Module Name of the window you were trying to open. If you don’t know this, consult the documentation or contact Suntower Systems.
- Log into SAFE as usual.
- Go into FILES|Setup Individual Options.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Click on the Module column and Locate for that Module.
- Delete every setting with that Module.
- Go back to the window you were trying to open and try again.
