The following is necessary in order to install and run this program as a client on a network or as a single user:
- Microsoft Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT Workstation, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Note: As of this writing, we do not recommend using Windows XP Home Edition with Simple Accounting.
- 32 MB RAM for Windows 95 or 98 and 128 MB RAM for Windows NT, XP or Windows 2000. You can check this by right clicking on the My Computer icon on your desktop and then left-clicking Properties from the pull-down menu.
- A hard disk with at least 5MB of free disk space to begin. Youll need more disk space as you begin entering data; how much youll need is detailed in the topic Estimating Required Storage Space.
- A 15″ display capable of Super VGA resolution (800×600). However, a 17″ monitor is strongly recommended. Larger monitors make using multiple windows in Simple Accounting much easier to see and work with.
If you are installing this software on a machine to be used as a server you will need to increase the amount of RAM and available disk space according to the requirements discussed in Networking.
