Time Of Day Shut Down

Time Of Day Shut Down

This option allows you to have greater control over when users have access to Simple Accounting. If set, SAFE times out for all users at a fixed time every day.

This is an option which must be installed by Suntower Systems.

Once installed, set it by going into Global Options and setting the following record from the browse:

Module: Main

Parameter: MainWindowTimeOfDayTimer

Value HH:SS

Set this parameter to the military time (hours/minutes) you want.

Ex: To automatically shut down at 8:00PM every night set MainWindowTimeOfDayTimer to 20:00

Preventing Users From Re-Starting Simple Accounting

If the Time Of Day Shutdown is set, you may also set another option is to prevent users from starting SAFE until a re-start time of day.

Module: Main

Parameter: MainWindowTimeOfDayRestartTime

Value HH:SS

Ex: To prevent users from starting SAFE after the Time Of Day Shutdown Timer has triggered until 5:00AM the next day set MainWindowTimeOfDayRestartTime to 05:00

Notify On Failure

A third option will automatically e-mail the Main User if any system fails to respond to the shutdown.

Module: Main

Parameter: MainWindowTimeOfDayNotifyOnFailure

Value: 1

Notify Attempted Log Ins

Finally, a fourth option can be set to automatically e-mail the Main User if any system attempts to re-start SAFE after the Time Of Day Shutdown Timer has triggered.

Module: Main

Parameter: MainWindowTimeOfDayNotifyOnLogIn

Value: 1

IMG00243.gif SHUT DOWN TIMERS CANNOT FUNCTION WHEN A USER HAS AN OPEN TRANSACTION! To protect data integrity, neither will shut down a Simple Accounting session when a user has an open transaction.
