Systems Sells Out!
In a surprise announcement today,
Microsoft (NYSE MS) has reached an agreement with the partners of Suntower
Systems (no symbol insofar as we know) to acquire all voting shares in the
private corporation. Speaking on behalf of Suntower Systems, Senior Partner Aodh
O'Dhonellaigh remarked, 'Yeah twenty years was about all I could personally take
of this racket---especially all the cracks about how to pronounce my name! So
this couldn't have come at a better time, boat loans being what they are and
all.' Other principals in the company could not be reached for comment by press
time from the company's Queen Anne offices, but neighbouring businesses
had telephone police about 'excessively loud music' and 'strangely coloured
smoke' emanating from inside.
Microsoft CEO
Steve Ballmer was generally tight lipped about the acquisition as well, although
an incident involving Mr. Ballmer outside of Key Arena after a Sonics game
seemed to play a key factor in their buying decision. Confidential sources
evidently are said to have witnessed several unnamed 'Northern Irish blokes'
giving the Microsoft executive a 'jump-start' when his sedan was found to be
stuck in one of the highly coveted Suntower Systems parking spaces that are
frequently 'borrowed' during events at Seattle Center. MS Spokesperson Molly
Branston was unwilling to confirm any connection between the incident and the
purchase agreement.

Heads up! In our next smash hit
issue, we will divulge in full our annual Customer Appreciation Offer. In past

they expired. Thus, we're letting you know a full month ahead of schedule so
there should be no excuses for not taking advantage!
The offer is provided every year, on our Anniversary to thank existing customers for their continuing support. The longer you've been on board, the bigger the deal.
So: make sure our Newsletters aren't going into the Spaminator! The next one's important. As we say back home
Last one to get it is a Big Girls Blouse!

Ciaran's
Corner: Quick Q/A
OK, the secret's out. Whenever I don't have the time to work up a proper rant, I
run one of these "Q/A" columns. I had frankly thought to pass on the whole thing
this time, given the useless nature of the rest of the <ahem> 'material' in this
issue. But I thought there should be at least one useful bit here so...
Q: Every once in a while I misplace a previous Deposit Slip which I faithfully print from the Payments Browse before posting. Is there a way to re-print a Deposit Slip from an earlier date?
A: Yes, indeed.
1. Go to the Check Register
2. Locate the Deposit and highlight it.
3. Press Print|Deposit Slip.
OK, I admit that
was a fairly lame Q/A---and yes you could've figured it out on your own. However
in my defence, people do ask that a lot so I say it counts! And
besides, I haven't a lot of time---haven't you heard? We've just been bought!
