Business Reminders

IMG00023.gifThis function scans your Simple Accounting data for important tasks that need attention today. There are ten types of reminders currently available:

Simple Accounting scans each of these files for matches and then displays them in a browse box. You can then either:

  • Print a report of items to work on them later, or…
  • Tag the items for SAFE to automatically process. A different process is applied to each item depending on the above type as follows:
Sales Orders scheduled to ship today (or past due) Tag the Sales Order.
Vendor Bills due for payment in the next seven days. Tag the Vendor Bill.
Recurring Sales Orders that are scheduled to be generated today. Generate a new Sales Order for each tagged Recurring Sales Order.
Recurring Vendor Bills that are scheduled to be generated today. Generate a new Vendor Bill for each tagged Recurring Vendor Bill.
Customer’s whose Forms Management Period has ended. Close the customer’s Forms Management Period
Time to Close the Current G/L Period. Close the current General Ledger Period.
Vendor POs which should have been received. Tag these Vendor Purchase Orders
Contact Management Activities due to be followed up on.
Customers who require a Past Due Statement. Print Customer Statements
Vendor Request For Quotes (RFQs) still waiting to be quoted on.
Sales Tax Entities To Be Paid Automatically generate a Vendor Bill for each Entity based on the calculated Sales Tax Payable Note: This calculation will vary depending on whether or not you are in a Cash or Accrual based accounting system as follows:

  • If ‘Cash’ Simple Accounting will automatically generate a Vendor Bill based on the Sales Orders for which you received payment during the past month.
  • If ‘Accrual’, Simple Accounting will utilize the current Sales Tax Payable amount for each Entity’s General Ledger Account.

Each user has the option of displaying a number of important business tasks that are scheduled for today when he/she starts the program. This option is enabled or disabled in the SETUP|User Options window.

You can also run this routine at any time of the day from the UTILITIES|Business Reminders menu.
