Postal Codes

Zip codes or postal codes are ten (10) digits in Simple Accounting and may contain a mix of uppercase alphanumeric characters to support both U.S. and international addresses.

This table provides a lookup of cities and states in Zip Code fields for Contacts, Customers, Vendors, and Sites (shipping addresses). The provided database includes every five digit zip code in the United States, plus many in Canada and Puerto Rico. You can also easily add new codes as needed if you work in areas not covered by the included list.

We update our Postal Code table quarterly. As you update Simple Accounting, you have the choice to accepted our updated file or maintain your version. However, If you accept our updates, any changes you may have made will be overwritten.

Postal Codes in any data file are not required when the UK Support is activated using the appropriate Start Up Option.

Tabs

Each of these tabs allows you to search for a Postal Code in a different manner usingshortcut.

Postal Code             Records are sorted by Postal Code.

City/State Records      Sorted by City, then State/Province.

State/City Records      Sorted by State/Province, then City.

If you use the nine-digit zip code we suggest placing a space between the first five digits and the +4 code.

If you sort a report or labels by zip code, you can subtotal by the first three digits to group records properly for USPS bulk mailing requirements.
